It had an income of $4,279,312 (2021: $3,456,245) and expenses of $3,687,293 (2021: $3,119,162).<\/p><p>AWARE\u2019s total funds at the end of 2022 were $7,177,124 (2021: $6,585,105).<\/p><p>The charity has disclosed its restricted funds in its Financial Statements. Annual budgets are approved by the board before adoption. Payments are regulated by a payment process and in accordance with the mandate for payment.\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-13acab9 bottom-10 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"13acab9\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h5 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">ii) Conflict of interest\n<\/h5>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-421d31e elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"421d31e\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>AWARE has established a Conflict of Interest policy at the board and staff levels to assist in identifying and managing potential areas of conflict.<\/p><p>All board members and staff undertake to declare any situation of conflict that may arise. They abstain from decision-making in such instances, so as to allow a fair and transparent decision-making process. They are also required to make a negative affirmation annually.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-e4ac63b bottom-10 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"e4ac63b\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h5 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">iii) Reserves\n<\/h5>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-8354b88 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"8354b88\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>AWARE aims to maintain a reserve that is equivalent to at least 12 months of its operating expenses to ensure continuity of its services and programmes.<\/p><p>The reserves are held in cash in either current or fixed deposit accounts, in accordance with guidelines on minimising risk and maintaining liquidity. These operational guidelines have been established and approved by the board.<\/p><p>Every six months, the board reviews the amount of reserves that are required to ensure that they are adequate.<\/p><p>If the reserves fall below the threshold of 12 months operating expenses, board approval will be required to utilise the remaining reserves.
