The first Bengawan Solo Cake shop was a small neighbourhood corner store on the east coast of Singapore, where cakes, kueh (traditional local confectionery) and other sweet confections were lovingly prepared to perfection in the modest back kitchen of Mrs Anastasia Liew. 36|||38 Armenian Street is real estate group Hong How’s latest property development. Crumpler

Founded in Melbourne,Australia 1995, Crumpler was the brainchild of ex bike couriers David Roper and Will Miller. Joining them in their scheme for world bag domination was fellow bag courier and sculptor, Stuart Crumpler. At that time, cyclists had a poor selection of bags to choose from and the ones in the market were visually unappealing and clunky. Wanting bags that were durable, stylish and that provided ease of access, Stuart decided to design his own bags. Coming up with the idea of using a single shoulder strap for ease of accessibility, a ‘third leg’ or strap for stability, the use of Cordura and their Chicken Tex fabric for durability and water resistance and adding colour to all their bags, Crumpler hit gold. Pretty soon, people on the street started taking notice of the unique bags that the couriers used and asked where they could buy the bags for themselves. Realizing that they were on to something big, the trio bought a couple of old sewing machines, set up a workshop in a warehouse and the rest as they say is history.

Crumpler products made their official debut in Singapore in 1999, they were brought in and distributed out to a handful of retailers and it was then Crumpler was introduced to the general public.

As popularity for the brand increased, the brains behind Crumpler Singapore decide to run with it and opened their first store at Wheelock Place in 2003. From fully customizable camera bags and zany coloured messenger bags to tough as nails everyday rucksacks, there was certainly something for everyone.
